The various Nylon® polymers are among the most important technical plastics due to their good cost/performance ratio, with commercial applications in fabrics and fibres, in moulded parts for automobiles and electrical equipment, and in films for food packaging.

This polymer is characterised by its low friction coefficient, its stability at high temperatures, its inertness and its impermeability.

It is the third most produced synthetic plastic polymer in the world.
